A TV source said: ‘ITV and Paddy have done all the specials you can eke out of a dating show, so it’s been decided it’s time for it to go. But it will go down as a big success — it’s had more weddings than Blind Date. MailOnline has contacted ITV for further comment on the show’s cancellation. Take Me Out sees a single man arrive on stage in a ‘love lift’ where he is greeted by a panel of 30 women.

In the show, a male contestant has to try and impress 30 women, who switch their lights off if they lose interest. At the end he is able to pick from the women whose lights are still on, with both going on a date to Tenerife. In December contestant Jade Devaney opened up about what it’s like to feature on the programme. Jade explained that contestants are taken to two different hotels during their time on the show once that are in Tenerife – checking in to one hotel only to check into another following date day.
